My practice specializes in providing professional counseling services to persons and families that struggle with issues related to addictions and associated disorders. I also provide pastoral counseling for persons who chose to apply their Christian faith to their personal problems. Sessions typically occur weekly and include talk therapy, education, and development of long-term strategies to assist with sobriety and recovery. WHEN SHOULD SEEK EMERGENCY SERVICES? (Level Three Care) When... · Relapsing into substance abuse and are experiencing an overdose, unusual reaction, or are concerned the substances may be adulterated (e.g., tampered, changed, etc.). · Your are hearing voices that others don’t hear. · When those voices are telling you negative things about others (e.g., harming or hurting). · You are seeing things others don’t see (e.g., spirits, demons, bugs, dead people, etc.). · Experiencing thoughts of self-harm with a low ability to control yourself &/or have immediate access to items that could be used to harm yourself. · Experiencing thoughts of harming others with a low ability to control yourself &/or have immediate access to items that could be used to harm yourself.
Recommendations: 1. Call 911, request ambulance, and tell them of your problems. 2. Get to the nearest emergency room, and tell them of your problems. |

WHEN SHOULD I SEEK SPECIAL SERVICES? (Level Two Care) When... · Relapsing into substance abuse. You never know how your body will react to a relapse. · Feeling very depressed · Experiencing thoughts of self-harm (e.g., suicide, cutting, self-punishing, etc.) · Experiencing thoughts of harming others (e.g., fighting, punishing, depriving another, killing someone)
Recommendations: 1. For those relapsing into substance abuse, call the nearest detoxification center to see if admission is advisable. For those in the greater Springfield area call, Carlson Recovery Center at (413) 794-5555 2. For those experiencing thoughts of self-harm or harming others call Psychiatric Crisis Services at (413) 733-6661. 3. In Connecticut call CT Info-line at 211. |

WHEN SHOULD I CALL THE OFFICE? (Level One Care) When... · Problems seem to be increasing. · You have a noticeable increase or decrease in sleep. · Your individual warning signs of relapse are observed. · You need to cancel or reschedule a session. · Feel unsafe in your stability.
Recommendations: 1. Call the office. 2. Call your sponsor or mentor. 3. Call those persons who are your support system. |

Address: The office is located at 1200 Converse Street in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Building: The building is on the corner of Dwight and Converse Streets. It is a red brick building with the words “Professional Building” out front. The office is not handicap accessible. Arrangements may be made to meet at another location for those not able to use stairs. Upon entering the building you will step down the flight of stairs to your right (L-3). Office: The counseling office is located at the end of the hallway, along with the offices of Thomas Lachiusa, MSW, Ph.D. and Michelle Murray. Office space is shared to keep counseling costs low. Each person operates their own independent, private practice. Transportation: We are conveniently located on the Pioneer Valley Transportation Authority bus route. Please call the bus company for the schedules, costs, and bus routes. Driving Directions: Coming from south of Springfield, take 91 North, to Exit 49 (Enfield /Longmeadow / Route 5). At the top of the ramp go to the right past Friendly’s and McDonald’s restaurants. Proceed through the lights. Approximately 2 miles on Route 5 north will lead you to Converse Street (on your right). Turn right onto Converse Street, and continue about 3 miles, until it meets Dwight Street. Our building is on the left. From North of Springfield, take 91 south. After passing the Basketball Hall of Fame, take Route 5, Longmeadow exit on your right. Bear to the left after you exit, continue on Route 5 south past Forest Park (on your left). At the top of the hill proceed through the traffic light to the next set of lights. Turn left onto Converse Street (the third set of lights since leaving the I-91). The left turn on Converse Street will take you to the office in about 3 miles. |
